BIOMEDevice Boston, the premier event on the east coast showcasing cutting-edge engineers, creative thinkers, and business leaders who influence the development of the multi-trillion-dollar biomedical market, announced a renewal of a strategic partnership with MassMEDIC to once more hold a professional-led Master Class Start-Up Series intended to aid businesses in growing and navigating the changing Medtech investment marketplace.
This year’s event, scheduled for September 28–29 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, will include a revamped and enlarged program for early-stage firms looking to grow their businesses and projects in the MedTech investment sector. The pandemic accelerated the emergence of new Medtech and digital health start-ups, attracting major venture capital investment. According to Rock Health, digital health entrepreneurs, in particular, raised $29.1 billion, nearly twice the previous record-breaking fundraising of $14.9 billion set in 2020.
All registered attendees of BIOMEDevice Boston have access to the Master Class Start-Up Series, which offers carefully curated content designed to provide insights on navigating the constantly shifting Medtech investment landscape, what it takes to develop along these trends, and how to get a behind-the-scenes look at various funding vehicles, from strategic to venture capital, and everything in between.
According to Adrienne Zepeda, Group Event Director of BIOMEDevice Boston, “Medtech and the biomedical markets are facing significant upheaval as new and highly advanced technologies focus on prevention, wellness, diagnosis, and detection to solve unmet needs more affordably.” “There is growing rivalry and the difficulty in getting capital as more and more entrepreneurs enter this industry to provide fresh ideas and innovative developments.”
Zepeda went on: “As a result, we collaborated with MassMEDIC to develop a program that would provide MedTech company owners practical advice on how to approach finance and investments, from the sales presentation through debt financing. Additionally, it’s a fantastic chance to network with like-minded entrepreneurs who have found success in the Medtech sector and learn from your colleagues’ successes.”
With regard to teaching, networking, raising awareness, and advocating for the medical device ecosystem, MassMEDIC brings to this program its unmatched knowledge and experience. MassMEDIC, a group of over 300 members representing manufacturers, suppliers, product developers, academic health centers, and research organizations, supports the MedTech community as it navigates the modern healthcare environment.
