According to Dr. R. S. Sharma, CEO of the National Health Authority, Unified Health Interface (UHI) will revolutionize the delivery of digital health services, much as UPI did for money transactions in India.

India FinTech Forum, a non-profit organization that advocates for Indian fintech startups, is hosting IFTA 2022. Between November 28 and 29, it will be held online, and on November 30, it will be held in person in Mumbai.

India is now the biggest real-time payments player in the world because to UPI. The amount of UPI transactions has recently overtaken that of credit and debit cards all together. According to Dr. Sharma, who spoke at the event, “With digital transactions and transparency at the core of UHI, this would mean positive outcomes for users, health service providers, as well as the transacted entities.”

“By giving health care service providers access to a sizable customer base via a shared platform, UHI makes it easier for them to conduct business.

A plethora of opportunities for the developing HealthTech ecosystem are also created by this paradigm change in healthcare delivery. He continued, “A rapidly developing digital health sector enables greater innovation and the emergence of new services in digital health that were not previously possible.

Dr. Sharma added that e-RUPI is the latest fintech initiative for instant payment to healthcare service providers in AB-PMJAY in the healthcare system. It is an individual and objective-specific digital tool built on the UPI architecture.

He continued, “e-RUPI will have many use cases: to start with health, nutrition, education, and agriculture are just a few areas that are going to benefit from it. e-RUPI is already being used by several states for a variety of benefit delivery programs in their states.
