The agreement, according to a press release, combines Luma’s platform with Salucro’s financial engagement tools to make it easier for customers to collect payments.
“Both Salucro and Luma think that patients’ financial journeys are a critical component of their overall success in receiving the treatment they require,” Aditya Bansod, Luma’s co-founder and chief technology officer, stated. “Our collaboration makes payment as simple for patients as a single text message and improves operational operations for healthcare personnel.”
LumaFinancial, Luma’s financial journey product that debuted earlier this summer, is included in the collaboration.
LumaFinancial features a service called LumaPay, which allows patients to pay their bills via text messages or the websites of their providers. It automatically seeks co-pays through text messages from patients with scheduled appointments and collects the co-pay via text message links that interface with the healthcare provider’s payment system.
“Salucro’s health information system connections allow payment transaction data to be posted in several systems concurrently, avoiding the need for extra paperwork by employees,” according to the announcement.
The firms stated that they want to work together on other technologies to streamline payment and financial procedures for patients and providers.
Salucro’s founder and CEO, Clayton Bain, claimed that by partnering with Luma, the company will be able to give its shared clients the flexibility to collect patient payments whenever, wherever, and however they are most likely to do so. “The Luma team is world-class, and this collaboration will help us both reach our common aim of enhancing patients’ financial experiences as part of their entire healthcare journeys.”
