Amwell is praising the modularity of its Converge digital health platform as the foundation of its future as a participant in the health tech industry, demonstrating that some telehealth providers recognize they must give more than video visits post-pandemic to remain relevant.

Amwell CEO Ido Shoenberg and CFO Bob Shepardson discussed migrations to the platform that was launched in 2021 during a third-quarter 2022 earnings call with analysts. Notable clients like CVS Health, LHM Health, and MU Health represented the scope and diversity of the platform, which Shoenberg claimed is on the verge of receiving 1 million visits.

Shoenberg said that Converge visits increased from 9% of all visitors in Q2 to 16% in Q3, adding that “in the past, we essentially had one large product and you either purchased it or you didn’t.

He provided encouraging news from recent customer-facing conferences where users of Converge, such as MU Healthcare, LHM Health, and Nemours Children’s Health, reported success. New modules assist the management of illness states and behavioral health.

The beginning of its agreement with CVS Health Virtual Primary Care, Amwell’s most well-known client to date, due to roll out in January 2023, was not discussed on the Q3 earnings call.
