Google Cloud has collaborated with many healthcare organizations to launch a variety of healthcare data engine (HDE) accelerators, which will hasten access to health information.
In a news release on Monday, the company said that “the information healthcare leaders and administrators require is frequently divided and difficult to acquire” (Nov. 14). It could be scattered across many IT platforms that aren’t connected to one another or concealed in the patient record.
Making companies more efficient, improving patient care, and helping individuals to live healthier lives all depend on interoperability or the enhancement of data flow and unification among healthcare systems.
The accelerators will be available the next year and offer HIPAA compliance and customer data protection using the Cloud’s infrastructure, according to the news announcement.
According to Google, the HDEs would prioritize three areas. In the first category, which is health equality, the HDE offers tools to help healthcare institutions connect patients with local resources. While one will focus on value-based treatment, the other will help healthcare organizations identify patterns and identify “relevant population health indices by combining claims and clinical data.”
Regarding the third, we’ll talk about patient flow. Understanding a wide range of patient flow measurements can help health organizations “discover patterns, potential causes, and bottlenecks to help set clinical operations performance targets.”
